But the reality is that many people find themselves in careers they don't enjoy or lose the career they did enjoy. Whether you are disatisfied with your career, dealing with work related stress, or wondering what you are going to do next, counseling can provide a framework for you to work through the dissonance in your work life and get on the path of meaningful fulfillment with regards to your work or career, regardless of what stage in your life you are at.

A large component of career choice is how we view ourselves and what we feel we can accomplish. So there's a big element of identity in there. I use Positive Psychology tools to assess the individual's strengths of character and what they view as important tools for success that they already have in their arsenal. From that perspective, we also look at those character strengths that could use a little further strengthening in order to best serve the individual reach their goals. Dreaming and imagining are big pieces of this process, so we also explore those in depth. I encourage realistic dreaming and identify fears and doubts that getting the way of dreaming and accomplishing dreams.

Oftentimes, people seek out career counseling because they are finding that their current job is not making them happy. From a Christian perspective, finding the work or "mission" God has designed you for is often called "finding your purpose" which we believe is the key to happiness in your work.
