I offer a unique marriage counseling program designed to get to know your partner on a deeper level and get beyond old hurts. Homework is given weekly. A professional working with couples will help first to clarify the main issue brought to the first session. Usually there is much more going on between two people, and a therapist will help the two dig alittle deeper. Maybe old anger is a roadblock....or resentments. I am passionate about working with couples in whatever stage of relationship they find themselves. I am honored to walk alongside a couple whether they are seeking to connect or reconnect, I consider it a privilege to a part of that process. I have recieved training in Emotionally Focused Therapy(EFT) and I am excited about this approach to working with couples. EFT is backed by valid research and live testimonies of those who have recieved it. EFT has been hailed as the most effective approach to helping couples lead healthier, happier more connected lives.

Couples come in all sorts of configurations, from Mommy/baby, to employer/employee, to parent/child/adoles. and of course husbands/partners/wives. Each of these couples are tremendously intimate and are often the very place we act out, feel grave disappointments and experiences some of our highest joys. This can be an optimum place of growth for both participants. It takes courage, honesty and a willingness to look inward and outward.

Many of us can remember the frustrations, hurts, and joys experienced in a loving relationship. Often couples can become confused with the variety of emotions and complicated interpersonal interactions. A counselor can help a couple avoid the pitfalls that can destroy a relationship and help a couple to establish healthy bonding and boundaries within effective communication to enhance and maintain a healthy relationship. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a proven effective short-term therapy that helps couples remember why they fell in love in the first place. As human beings, we all need of love, affection, and intimacy but sometimes the way we go about getting it can actually create more distance. Our partner only hears the anger, not seeing the anxiety underneath because we fear losing them. I work with couples to help them deal with and process the challenges of intimate relationships. I help to facilitate greater communication, understanding, and mutual respect. By opening channels of greater understanding within the context of the clinical hour, couples are encouraged to take what they learn in session, irrespective of what the specific relational concerns are. Sometimes this can encourage a new way of being together and sometimes this can mean having a greater awareness of one another as individual people.
