My approach to anger management involves learning valuable coping and relaxation skills. However, it also involves learning the root causes of the anger and addressing distortions in thinking. Using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy I help clients address their beliefs about situations which often cause the feelings and reactions that follow. I use homework, role playing and collaborative treatment goals to help ensure clients make progress and meet their intended objectives.

Anger can be a frustrating emotion. At times it can feel so powerful that we believe we have little ability to control it. Anger, however, is not just a frustrating and powerful emotion...it is an energy, that when properly directed, can help us achieve great things. Without proper direction, anger can become destructive, especially if we choose to direct that energy toward another individual. The ability to manage strong emotions is a skill that can be learned and used to facilitate better interpersonal interactions.
