Healing from past wounds, identifying false beliefs developed from childhood/life experiences, and working through the accompanying grief/loss will be the key to finding healing and freedom from depression and discouragement. As we do this, we will also work to replace these hurts and wounds with the truths about who the person was created to be, so that the client finds contentment and joy once again, sometimes despite the circumstances.

Clients presenting with depression undergo a validated psychiatric assessment and clinical interview to determine biologic [sleep, diet, exercise, medical issues], psychologic [self-talk, participating in pleasurable activities], social [the health and safety of relationships], and spiritual variables [beliefs in God, and connection with a faith community]. Assessing and intervening across these four variables has led to effective, efficient treatment outcomes.

I work with people who have either struggled with chronic depression, or have newly diagnosed depression due to life changes. Depressive symptoms can occur randomly, without obvious triggers. This can make depression difficult to manage. I help clients better manage their symptoms as well as helping them work through the symptoms moving forward. I understand how depression or depressive feelings can impact people's lives. Through psychotherapy and coaching, I use a range of strategies which allow my clients to have more fulfilling lives.
