My approach to marriage, couples, and family counseling is solution-oriented. Highly trained and experienced, I give clients strategies, tools, and techniques to find the solutions that make a positive difference in their relationships.

I help couples who are fighting and wondering if this is the right relationship for them so that they can have better communication, know how to support each other and know how to fight fair.As a result my clients know how to get what they want and need.

With couples, I show each partner how first to control their emotional reactions (anger & hurt) and how to negotiate for what they want. This enables each individual to respond more effectively to their partner and increases the chances of problem resolution.

I help couples deepen trust and emotional connection. When couples learn effective ways to ‘reach and respond’ to one another, their relationship can become more loving as conflict and disconnect fade.

I also provide couples counseling for alternative and traditional relationships. I use an approach to counseling that leans heavily on Imago therapy, where you will learn how to communicate more effectively with your partner so that needs and desires are heard.

I see relationships as one of the principal opportunities for growth we have available to us. I work with a variety of research methodologies that focus on practical, concrete ways of improving communication and helping two people to give up their opposing positions.
