Children are amazing to work with! Often they have anxiety and fears which interfere with them enjoying their childhood as they should. In counselling, I provide a safe place where they can talk about concerns that seem so big to them. I enjoy helping them to discover their strengths and how to use those strengths to effectively cope with anxieties. Working on positive coping and self-esteem helps them become the very best that they can be. I love working with the children and their families and watching them grow. It is simply amazing!

I only treat children over the age of 5 years. Children are often too young to understand their feelings and emotions. It is often not necessary for them to understand as oppose to having an avenue to ventilate feelings through emotional expression. My approach is supportive, to assist young children with emotional expression and to understand their feelings within the limitations of their conceptual ability and understanding. I also assist parents with parenting techniques to address behavioral issues and to provide support to the child.
