Christian counseling is a form of therapy that integrates spiritual beliefs and principles with traditional counseling techniques. It aims to uphold Christian values and teachings while offering support to individuals dealing with mental health and personal issues. i base my approach on Scripture and prayer to help individuals find inner peace, resilience, and a sense of purpose. I am trained to deal with issues such as marital problems, addiction, grief, and stress, among others. Overall, Christian counseling is an effective way to enrich an individual's mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.

My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in emotionally focused therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. Emotionally focused therapy closely parallels the Christian faith in how it understands human personhood and connection. I am trained through a biblical lens and comfortable including faith in the work we will do. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals and faith.

God created us to be in relationship with himself and others. However, these relationships can become strained and complicated and we can become overwhelmed. Christian counselling offers a unique approach to therapy not offered by other methods; the promises of God. Through the scriptures God has offered us wisdom and guidance on how to live fulfilling and abundant lives. The reality however, is this is not easy. Together we will work to approach life from a Biblical perspective and apply the message of Christ to life's complications. In my approach to Christian counselling, Christ is the foundation from which we will build new perspectives, insight and meaning to accomplish your goal.

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

It is a particular passion of mine to work with clients who would like to bring their faith and their spirituality into counselling. I believe that integrating solid, evidence-based counselling with the healing power of God through the use of Prayer, Scripture and simply the explicit welcoming of God into our conversation, brings the potential of great healing and hope for individuals. It is always the choice of the particular individual/client, whether or not and to what degree they would like to integrate their faith and spirituality explicitly into the counselling process. It is my pleasure to integrate the elements that you feel comfortable with and which are important to you, into therapy.
