My masters program was called Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy. I had 3 years previous to that in a counselling undergrad that focused heavily on building a spiritually integrated foundation for theoretical approaches with clients. During those formative years developing as a professional and discovering who I wanted to be as a counsellor, I realised that I was made to serve and model with high integrity, a compassion for my clients that would stand out in their lives; that I had the privilege to be a small seed along their journey to well being. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#10899), and a Non-Certified Professional Member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. I use an integrative approach to customize therapy to you: including self-compassion, mindfulness, attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

My approach involves drawing on various modalities (e.g., dialogic, narrative, solution-focused, emotion-focused) that fit the unique needs of clients. I hope to create an environment for clients where they feel a sense of safety to express their reflections, thoughts, and concerns. I take on a non-judgmental, non-expert stance and firmly believe that clients have everything that they need already within them- my role is to simply remind you of who you are or to help you discover who you would like to be through supportive, therapeutic conversations. Individuals often come to psychotherapy when the coping strategies they were previously using are no longer helpful, and potentially, they have become problematic or destructive. I work with you as a Psychotherapist to help develop an understanding of your situation and develop a plan to address any roadblocks that you face in meeting your goals. I use a variety of treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also take a Trauma-Informed approach. Therapy outcomes to include developing a positive sense of self, feeling in control of your thoughts and actions and replacing negative thinking with positive thoughts.

My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals.

Individual therapy is focused on your unique needs and goals. Individual therapy includes learning about your history and life experiences then establishing goals to accomplish in counselling. Our histories are the roots that provide us with a foundation of strength and resilience. But, our histories can also hold the stories that cause pain, insecurity and doubt. It is our belief that the best therapy comes from helping to heal the roots that cause those stuck points. Through this we can create lasting change.
