To help calm these fears, I tend to compare psychotherapy to athletic coaching. Top athletes – LeBron James, J.J. Watt, Serena Williams – all have a coach. These athletes excel at their individual sport, have been playing for most of their lives; and still benefit from coaching. In life, or sport, we sometimes lack insight to what blocks our progress to our full potential. In psychotherapy, like a coach, I offer that support, feedback, and clarity.
