Personal discovery and growth is one of life's greatest challenges but also provides one of life's greatest rewards. As a therapist, my job is to help you navigate this journey. I specialize in integrated, holistic personal and psychological healing. Through my own healing journey to address childhood trauma, I did many years traditional talk therapy.  While I found this to be helpful, it wasn’t untilI discovered somatic experiencing therapy that I began to experience a deep settling in my body and mind in a relatively short period of time.  I experienced changes that seemed difficult or impossible prior and felt more connected with people around me. I've seen in myself and my clients an ability to change reactions and patterns that seemed unchangeable before incorporating somatic work. Feelings, thoughts, or memories that seemed intolerable become tolerable. This settling of the nervous system can lead to a newfound sense of feeling present and engaged in life.  One gains more capacity to experience positive emotions, tolerate negative emotions without becoming overwhelmed, and an ability to understand and manage reactions to people or situations.

I view the process of therapy as a journey together where you are the leader and I am there to support and guide you towards your goals.I value the connection that I have with my clients and believe it is integral to the therapeutic process.I use a relational, interactive approach to psychotherapy that includes personal empowerment, somatic experiencing, neuroscience, communication, exploration of family systems, and trauma recovery. As a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner in Training, I utilize the experiences of both the body and mind to help facilitate the therapeutic process. I work with adults, teens, college students, couples, and families.
My specialties include: Developmental Trauma, Childhood Sexual Abuse, PTSD, Medical Trauma, Maternal Mental Health, Parenting, Assertive Communication, Multicultural Psychology, LGBT Issues, Couples Therapy and Relationship Issues, Depression, Anxiety, Coping with Disability or Chronic Health Issues, ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Neuropsychology.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience. I graduated from the City University of New York in 2009 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology.  I have a background and experience with neuropsychology, clinical psychology, somatic experiencing, and learning disability and ADHD assessment. I have worked in various settings including outpatient hospital and clinic settings, university counseling services and disability support services.  My primary focus is now my private practice and I love helping clients address trauma symptoms and make deeper, more long-lasting, meaningful changes.
