I believe that writing has the power to heal you in profound ways.
And I believe that when you combine writing, yoga and some talk therapy you can recover more quickly from eating disorders or body image issues than you can with talking alone.
I also believe that you deserve to be your most awesome and spectacular self… no matter what has happened in the past. No matter what you’ve believed about yourself in the past.
People ask me all of the time where my passion for writing comes from. And how I came to use that and yoga so much in my work. Here’s the short story:
My sister died after a long and painful battle with Leukemia when I was young. I wrote to feel better.
A strange man broke into my house in college and sexually assaulted me in my own bedroom. I thought he, or his trusty little knife, was going to kill me. I wrote to feel safe again.
I had a soul crushing eating disorder for nearly 35 years. I wrote so I could find myself under the pain. And I practiced yoga so I could stop living a life that was ABOUT my body and start living one that was about being IN it.
When I first started counseling people, it was all about talking. However, once I started experimenting with using writing and movement to heal with some of my clients – just as I had done for myself – and I saw how much it helped them, both in and out of our sessions, I couldn’t keep it to myself.
I believe that when done with intention this writing + yoga + talking cocktail can transform the way you feel about your body and how you feel IN it.
More importantly, I believe that when you love your body, you can change the world.
You + Me + a Fabulous Community = a Little Bit of Magic
Have you spent years – maybe even decades – fixated on your body and your weight in ways that hold you back?

Do you make daily and moment-to-moment decisions all based on how you feel about your body?

Do you miss out on social activities, career interests, and many other opportunities because you’re afraid you’ll get found out, or they’ll get in the way of your work outs, or because you can’t bear the comparison hell you go through every time you try to measure up to everyone else?

Do you control, judge and analyze every morsel of food that goes in your mouth and overexercise to the point of exhaustion?

And still, even after all of this, after controlling for every possible variable, you still don’t feel satisfied? You still feel less than, scared, and not good enough in every way possible?
I get it and I also want to help you get to the place where you feel like more than enough. In every way. Every day.

My mission is to help women and girls - and more importantly, you - fall in love with yourself again. Or maybe for the first time. Through yoga, writing and a commitment toward healing you will find your way through.  And you will learn how to love every last inch of yourself.
Through my in-person and online group workshops I'll help you access the core of who you are, learn to read and honor the signals your body gives to you, and feel good in your own skin so you can begin creating the life you so fully deserve.
