Upon request I will see clients who would like to use faith based language in the session including prayer and reading from the Bible. I am respectful of all cultures and belief systems in my practise. Clients may want to discuss their own faith and how it strengthens them and they are free to do so without judgment. People of all faiths or non faith backgrounds are welcome

My approach to Christian counselling is to help people define for themselves what they believe and how to make their lives congruent with their faith. I do not impose my beliefs on others, but rather respect the differences between Christian traditions. I seek to encourage the personal faith and personal relationship with God of each of my clients who are open to faith based counselling. Including faith in the counselling conversation is incredibly important if you are a Christian, as it affects every part of the believer's life. This isn't only about talking with someone who shares a worldview - it's about working together with a counsellor who can help you navigate issues like anxiety, trauma, mental health disorders and relationships within the larger narrative of God's plan and calling on your life.

Some of our psychologists grew up Catholic and in a Catholic school system. They are spiritual and often times incorporate and embrace their spirituality into aspects of therapy that they employ, whether that be in the form of general spirituality or religion. Our psychologists are quite familiar with the beliefs of the Catholic Church and the different rituals, and use spirituality to empower people and help them find meaning in circumstances, if appropriate for the client.
