I help my clients to identify their career goals and aspirations. We spend so many of our waking hours working and if we are not satisfied at work then it sets us up for a dull and humdrum existence. Rising costs of gas, housing, food, insurance, and the high competition for available jobs is forcing many young people to spend their 20's still sharing their parent's home. I help non-college bound teens combine their life experience with their passion to develop a vision of a career they would enjoy. I help young adults who are considering returning to college brainstorm about next steps and develop an action plan.

In Career Counseling I help my clients by guiding them toward identifying their goals, setting higher expectations for themselves, and achieving exceptional results. I have been successful in helping my clients to make improvement in their careers, and have reached the results they desired. In many cases also I have helped clients to choose new careers that has helped to improve their quality of life.

A large component of career choice is how we view ourselves and what we feel we can accomplish. So there's a big element of identity in there. I use Positive Psychology tools to assess the individual's strengths of character and what they view as important tools for success that they already have in their arsenal. From that perspective, we also look at those character strengths that could use a little further strengthening in order to best serve the individual reach their goals. Dreaming and imagining are big pieces of this process, so we also explore those in depth. I encourage realistic dreaming and identify fears and doubts that getting the way of dreaming and accomplishing dreams.
