There are two unique schools located in the city. The Sherman Indian School offers classes for Native American tribal students in grades 7-12 and has been open since 1878. The area is also home to the California School for the Deaf, Riverside. This school has been operating since 1934 and students range in age from 18 months to 22 years old. The area has ample opportunity for outdoor recreation with a large collection of parks. The California Citrus State Historic Park is located in the city. The park offers a wide array of activities including hiking, family programs and picnic areas. Even today, the park contains active citrus groves.1 An extensive network of city-maintained parks and community centers are also popular destinations in the town. With over 50 parks to choose from, there is something for everyone.
