Characterized as a suburb of San Jose, Campbell California was incorporated as a city in 1952. Founded by a man who shares its name, Benjamin Campbell, the town became infamous for its agricultural influence. With its canneries and drying grounds, Campbell became a focal point for the railway system. Its first union, known as the Campbell Fruit Growers’ Union, was an inspiring cooperative during the late 1870s.Today, Campbell’s population is just over 40,000, yet its average single family income is close to $1 million.1 Somewhat on the opposite spectrum of its history, Campbell now encompasses a corner of Silicon Valley and serves more as a suburban escape for those who work in the larger cities. Regardless, the town still has so much to offer, such as the Campbell Historical Museum, or the Campbell Community Center. The city also hosts summer concerts in front of the Ainsley House (a historic home), and is even looking forward to a new park called Stojanovich Family Park.
