I am a Ph.D. psychologist. My approach to helping people is to use short-term evidenced-based therapeutic techniques for your particular disorder, problem, or issue. I believe in first assessing the problem and then developing an individualized treatment plan to help you resolve it. I use skill-building approaches that are practical and useful and which require active patient participation both in sessions and between sessions.

The mind is incredibly malleable. Our environment and reactions to it continually form thoughts and processes for thinking. Sometimes, this happens without our consent or awareness and we end up with thought patterns we cannot find our way out of. We may not even know where they came from. This is why it takes a new environment and new influences e.g. a psychologist. The trick is to reverse the influences and teach the mind new patterns while breaking old ones.
