Most couples counselors expect you to come weekly for many months, and you will not know in advance how much time and money you will have to spend. Couples almost always need just 3 or 4 sessions with me to leave happily, their problems gone permanently. Couples who have seen me over the years have paid much less than they would have paid to old-fashioned therapists who get so bogged down in psychoanalyzing couples that most couples quit in frustration, having wasted lots of money and found no permanent solutions. How can I enable change in such a short time? We will spend most of our time creating solutions, instead of analyzing problems.

In Couple’s Counseling; I accept the view that as individual we are complex beings who are multifaceted and therefore multi-storied. So in working with a couple, I try to balance the conversation, so that each feels heard. My aim is be neutral to each, as much as possible. So in the initial session we collaborate in setting ground rules. I encourage autonomy so each know his/her right to govern their own freedom of choices and behaviors. I steer away from cookie cutter activities as I believe that in the process of therapy client will use their resources to find their own path that work for their relationship. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy.
