Anger is so much more than just anger. Under Anger there are a lot of deeper feelings that have usually gone repressed or unvalidated. The first step in working with anger is addressing those underlying thoughts and feelings to get to the root of the anger. We'll find new ways to cope with life's stressors and incorporate new ways of interacting with others.

Anger is a normal human emotion that we all experience. The way we express anger can be what distinguishes us as being healthy or unhealthy partners, parents, co-workers, employees or managers. Anger is generally a surface emotion. Beneath it lies another strong emotion, usually sadness, hurt, fear or inadequacy. In our efforts to protect ourselves from being vulnerable we often act out in anger, which generally takes us farther away from our true goals. In my work with you I will help you understand your anger in a different way and provide you with techniques and coping skills to manage this strong emotion moving you closer to your ultimate goals and strengthening your relationships.

Anger management is an important skill to master in our ever changing world, which brings increasing amounts of stress into our lives. I would utilize two tools: discussing an individual's background to discover possible causes for the behavior, and teaching positive approaches toward stressors. I have assisted both individuals and couples with anger management issues.
