We all experience grief and loss. Sometimes it impacts us so deeply that depression and a host of other emotions follow. It is important to fully grieve these big losses whether it was from a friend, loved one, loss of job or some other "ideal." Understanding the stages of loss and going through each one with success can help us to continue to live fully through the grief and then in time to find healing.

Grief is not anyway natural or pathological. My approach to grief is to meet you where you are. Grief if a tough thing to deal with so we take our time and walk this journey together. I educate and sympathize with you while you are grieving in order to allow them to feel safe. In this journey you will connect feelings and allow yourself time to heal with he support of loving support and care.

I have 40 years of experience in helping people deal with grief and loss. I see grieving as a potential growth experience that can be a catalyst for change in their lives. I use a family system approach to grieving. Which means I am able to help people adjust to the loss of loved ones and heal relationships, both present and past, that can be impacted by the loss.

Most often, I find that individuals may seek out counseling for a variety of reasons only to gradually discover that what is at the core of the problem is a failure to have grieved primary as well as secondary losses that have been experienced. I use a variety of therapeutic activities, such as games, handouts and worksheets to help a client work through his/her losses to once again find healing, peace and joy in and from life.
