Career questions can arise during periods of transition, burnout, or when work begins to feel disconnected from personal meaning and purpose. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in both the corporate & not-for-profit sectors, and was a peer mentor supporting colleagues through professional challenges & development. This informed my approach to career counseling today. Drawing on ACT and narrative therapy, I help clients step back from immediate pressures to reflect on their strengths, values, and the broader story of their working lives. My approach to helping clients in the area of work and career often relates to interpersonal problems in employment settings, difficulties managing work-life balance, and questions surrounding changing careers. Often clients come in with concerns around how to make changes to their employment situation, and they have various anxieties surrounding the risk that comes with making these life changes. In treatment, I help clients address their anxieties and fears, and we work together to seek solutions.
