In Career Counselling, I help clients explore their strengths, passions, and values to guide them toward fulfilling career paths. Using a combination of goal-setting techniques, and motivational interviewing, I support clients in identifying their professional aspirations and overcoming any barriers that may be holding them back. Being a trained Life Coach, I help clients identify their dreams, bent and natural gifts, so they can build careers which utilize their skill set. From there, I help them set SMART goals – i.e. Simple, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time-focused – broken down into smaller goals, so they never get discouraged, plus they get to witness and celebrate their progress every step of the way. I believe in walking alongside the client in their journey to complete what they set out to do, tackling obstacles as they come – shyness, communication issues, confidence, etc. – so nothing will stop them!

My approach to helping clients in the area of work and career often relates to interpersonal problems in employment settings, difficulties managing work-life balance, and questions surrounding changing careers. Often clients come in with concerns around how to make changes to their employment situation, and they have various anxieties surrounding the risk that comes with making these life changes. In treatment, I help clients address their anxieties and fears, and we work together to seek solutions.

There can be a lot of pressure to figure out one’s career or to decide where one fits within a particular field. Oftentimes this is a winding road rather than a straight route. Within therapy, I will support you in identifying and exploring the values, goals, interests, and passions most important to you so that you can make decisions about your career that feel right to you.
