Sarah is experienced in providing counselling for children of all ages. Using art, play and conversation she assists children to resolve various emotions relating to life stresses stemming from separation/divorce, death, school issues, bullying and adjustment to blended family life. She also assists children to resolve issues such as anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem and poor self-confidence. When working with young children, I use developmentally appropriate, play-based, and relational approaches to support emotional expression and regulation. Children are given safe ways to communicate feelings that may be difficult to verbalize directly. Therapy may also include caregiver involvement to strengthen attachment and support consistency outside of sessions. Children often benefit from improved emotional awareness, better coping skills, and increased behavioural regulation, while caregivers gain insight into supporting their child’s emotional development.
