For followers of the Christian faith, meeting with a Christain counsellor can be quite helpful and affirming. Through a shared understanding of Christian principles, teaching and beliefs, situations and people can be assessed and solution identified that are grounded in Christian traditions such as faith, forgiveness and grace, family and parenting, suffering and recovery. As a Christian, I greatly appreciate how faith and spirituality play a role in our daily lives. Yet God still calls us to be in the world and to experience many different aspects of human life, even things we think God could fix. Making sense of the differences between what we believe God wants and what we face daily can be distressing and lead to despair and depression. Talking about these losses with someone with a similar faith can be vital as we navigate these challenges. If you want to speak to someone with a similar faith to your own or someone who understands the spiritual journey, I would be glad to be your therapist.

In Christian counselling, I provide a space where clients can integrate their faith with psychological healing in a way that feels respectful and authentic to their beliefs. Spirituality may be explored as a source of meaning, strength, and guidance, while also addressing emotional and relational concerns. Clients are supported in making sense of challenges through both a therapeutic and faith-informed lens. Many benefit from increased spiritual clarity, emotional healing, and a deeper sense of alignment between faith and lived experience.

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.
