In my family therapy practice, we will work on strengthening the overall health of your family system, not just resolving one relationship within it. Whether it is looking at conflicts that repeat, emotional distances that develop, or uneven power dynamics, I strive to create an atmosphere that develops clearer communication and safer connection. My approach places an emphasis on structure and boundaries so that conversations can be productive and emotionally safe, particularly when teens are involved. The goal is a calmer, more harmonious family environment where challenges and needs can be addressed without disrupting the sense of safety and belonging.

Family therapy is aimed at addressing and improving the dynamics within a family unit. By involving all members in the therapeutic process, family therapy aims to uncover and resolve issues that affect the family's overall functioning and relationships. My goal is to work collaboratively with the family to discover the family dynamics and systems that exist and to facilitate improved communication and connection between its members. Ideally, family therapy aims to help members support each other’s emotional needs in the here and now, ultimately promoting a healthier and more cohesive family environment. Marianne and Ray use the Satir method of family therapy. We believe that when parents are having issues with their children a whole family approach is advisable. We use a warm and nurturing approach. The emphasis is on improving communication amongst all family members. Everyone's voice gets heard and conflict resolution is generally easily attainable.

In family therapy, the focus is on the interactions of those that are affected by the presenting concern and strengthening relationships of the family system.
