Anger as an experience and a behavior can have several causes which need to be assessed before deciding on which approach would work best. While generally caused by frustration, the reactions an individual exhibits can be the result of deep-seated emotional problems including trauma, or a learned reaction which seems out of the individual's control to deal with. Neurophysiological problems can sometimes exhibit as a loss of temper. Evaluation by a counselor can be very helpful when anger is a problem to determine if anger management or another form of help would be the best approach. Mental strategies and even relaxation exercises may be a part of anger management approaches.

I create a safe, warm, caring atmosphere so that you can share your painful, feelings of anger, resentment, and bitterness. These feelings, no doubt are negatively impacting you emotionally and causing you major conflicts with your spouse, partner, children, parents, bosses, colleagues or even friends. In addition you probably notice they can cause for you health problems such as high blood pressure, back pain, headaches, stomach and chest pains and possibly even contribute to the development of cancerous tissues. I can help you identify and resolve the underlying hurt, pain, grievances and attack thoughts and learn to let go, release and forgive yourself and others. I offer you a wide va

Are you struggling with anger and not sure what direction to go? I have always believed in the healing powers of nature. When thinking about opening my private practice, I knew I wanted to incorporate the outdoors into the work I do. WalkinTalkinTherapy was born of this vision. As I continued to research the subject I came across the articles listed below. Researchers and scientist go into detail as to the positive effect the outdoors and physical activity have when combined with talk therapy. Being able to take the counseling session out into nature is one tool we can use to address your struggle.

If you find yourself angry and irritable at home or in the workplace, I can help. Anger is often the tip of the iceberg. Underneath many angry people are feeling empty or disconnected. I do not provide anger management counseling if you are in an abusive relationship or looking for court approved services. This not my expertise. But if your anger, resentment, and irritable mood toward your partner, family, or children is getting in the way of having healthy positive relationships, I can help. Please first review my private practice info, fees, and location here and on my website. If that seems doable give me a call to see if my counseling services are a good fit for your situation.

Anger only is the 'top of the volcano'. What I really find important for my clients is to understand the underlying issues and emotions that fuel the volcano. I am approaching anger management from three angles: 1) Anger is a strong physical reaction and I consider it essential for my clients to learn relaxation practices to stay in touch with their calm. 2)Anger is fueled by destructive and often self-destructive thoughts and I believe that it is very helpful for clients to be able to identify and shift these thoughts. 3) Anger is defensive emotion and it is essential for clients to gain access to their deeper emotions in order to self-soothe.

Appropriately expressed anger is a useful human emotion. Unfortunately, if you are struggling with excessive internal rage & accumulated anger, you can be easily triggered & find yourself out of control. This experience is obviously destructive to others, but you are suffering deeply as well. After lashing out toward loved ones, you are left with feelings of self-loathing & frustration at your inability to control your own emotions. These negative feelings can contribute to more accumulated anger - so the cycle continues. No one wants to live this way. You can choose to bravely explore this vicious cycle of anger. Heal yourself - heal your relationships - heal your life. You can do this!
