Our deepest wounds are often those that are at the hands of another person. Human brokenness is the root of our need for redemption. This holds true in therapy and growth work as well. I received both my masters and doctoral degrees, along with related training, at Rosemead School of Psychology, one of the leading schools in the country focused on the integration of Christian faith and understanding of human nature with clinical counseling. Our faith can be an important, even central part of our lives. For many people having a therapeutic relationship where this part of themselves can be explored and where they can be open about their faith and relationship with God is hugely important. I am a Christian and I am a psychologist. I am a Christian faith-based therapist with my office at my church. Everything we go through is a spiritual challenge. Our ability to handle life is based on our connection with God. When we are tight, (in vertical alignment), we are able to handle our challenges and follow as He requires. A Christian Counselor is different than a counselor who is a Christian. Counselors are taught to not push their faith or value system on clients. That means that even if your Therapist is a Christian, you may not be getting Christian Counseling unless you ask for it! For those who choose to have their faith applied throughout counseling, Christian Counseling offers Bible based, spiritual solutions to emotional and relational difficulties. The faith-based therapist doesn't just quote Scripture or judge sin. The Christian counselor will ask questions, offer insight, and explore possible outcomes based on the leading of the Holy Spirit, the client's life circumstances, and proper doctrine.

I do not specialize in treating Christian clients, however I do work with Christians whose background in line with teachings of tolerance. I deal with Christians who are struggling with sexual and/or gender identity issues. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore one's beliefs in God, the church, and their sexual identity or gender identity. I am have worked with these issues for over 25 years and identity issues are a specialty of mine. I am also a specialist and certified expert in the treatment of childhood abuse, trauma, sexual abuse and sexual trauma of males and females.
