Abbotsford, a growing city in excess of 120,000, is located between Langley on the west, the Fraser River on the north, Chilliwack on the east, and the U.S. border on the south.  This area was first developed during the Gold Rush on the Fraser River in 1858 growing with agriculture and the settlement of crops of milk, butter, and tobacco a few years later.  This development was further enhanced when, in 1891, the Canadian Pacific Railway built a line from the northern side of the Fraser River to Washington state.  It was the location of a station built in the valley that became the site for the Village of Abbotsford.  Numerous people call this city home, bringing to bear a genuine need for values counselling. Abbotsford BC, and its development, was ensured with the arrival of the electric railway in 1910 accelerating its growth to this present day.
