About Oakville, ON

Oakville is a town that lies on Lake Ontario and is considered part of the Greater Toronto metropolitan area.  The town was first surveyed to be used as a military road in 1793.  It was not until 1805 that the lands were purchased by the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada.  In 1807, the first British settlements arrived.  1827 saw the first real development in the area with industries such as timber shipment, shipbuilding, and wheat farming.  The area flourished economically and then in 1850, the area saw an economic recession, forcing the shipbuilding foundry to close.  Choosing to begin counseling Oakville, ON is the beginning towards a greater awareness of the issues that are resulting in the disconnects in your life.  The major industry turned to basket-making and the Grand Trunk Railway ran through town, making it easier to ship goods in and out of the area.  The area continued to grow, building oil refineries and Ford Motor Company’s Canadian headquarters.
