There are 2 kinds of Counselling / Therapy.
One is crisis intervention...when we reach out for help because we are in an emotionally painful circumstance internally or in relationship. The other is personal growth work...when we seek to identify and change our unhealthy patterns of thinking, feeling and doing, Sometimes these go hand in hand and sometimes they are separate processes.
In either case...the experience involves becoming more consciously aware of yourself and your habitual patterns and then developing tools that will help you make different choices in your day to day life. Learning how to live "mindfully" will help you feel more balanced than you ever have before.
