I am dedicated to helping individuals through difficult periods & maximizing their potential to enjoy a successful and productive life. I have advanced training and expertise in helping people navigate their way through life's difficulties, including such common sources of distress as anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, family and career conflicts, psychological pain caused by physical illness, work stress, childhood abuse, and low self-esteem. My practice of clinical psychology is fairly general, meaning that I have the training and experience to treat a wide range of psychological difficulties. In instances in which the client's presenting difficulty is outside of the range of my experience and expertise, I will help to locate a more appropriate treatment source.

One of the tools that I have been trained to use is psychotherapy, which involves regular face-to-face meetings with the psychologist. Sessions typically last between 45-50 minutes, one or more times per week; depending on the case. In this confidential and safe setting, clients have the opportunity to explore personal issues with someone who has unique listening skills, and is more neutral than those who are more directly involved with the situation. This leads not only to a deeper understanding of the issues, but also promotes the conditions that make long lasting change possible.

Once an individual contacts me for an appointment, we will meet for an initial evaluation period of one to three sessions. During that time I will ask many questions about your present situation, and if indicated, your life history. I will be attempting to form an opinion as to whether my experience and training would permit me to be of assistance to you. At the same time, you are evaluating me as well. It is important that you feel I am someone with whom you feel comfortable enough talking to, so that we may continue our meetings on a regular basis. At the end of this brief evaluation period we will mutually decide in which direction to continue.
