Its been suggested that over our period of working life, we will undertake at least 3 significant career changes. These transitions are seen as one of life's more significant stressor events. Sometimes such a commitment can seem overwhelming. If you are at that point in your life and considering a job/career change, you may want to seek guidance from a professional counsellor. We can help identify issues at hand, and alleviate the stress of managing such a significant life event. I use a biopsychosocial approach with an emphasis on strengths to help people within their career. Finding a satisfying career path is not just a matter of following your bliss but examining the requirements each individual has for creating a life they want balanced against the resources they have. When there isn't the resources for career change, creating a long term plans and a tool belt for resiliency is key to overcoming workplace dissatisfaction.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. Gaining a sense of control over one's life allows for increased confidence and self-esteem. I help clients build the motivation necessary to take steps toward a future filled with passion, thriving, and mental resilliance.

To incorporate an SFBT approach to help clients identify their own resiliency from a strength based perspective. To use positive psychology language and focus on solution when clients may be wanting to explore other careers or feel stuck in their current one. To assist clients remember and identify past adversities and their history of overcoming situational challenges.
