When clients specifically request our counselling sessions to have a Christian focus I am able to integrate scriptual teaching & Christian counselling research within the broader field of psychotherapy assessment & treatment. Having a Biblical studies (BA) background, I have had the privilege to explore biblical views on relevant issues, especially for Christians. Sometimes it can feel isolating and discouraging and leave you to wonder what is God's purpose behind this. What am I to learn? What should my response be? What does Scripture say about these situations? There is so much that can bring uncertainty and cause doubt; that's ok, but let's figure out how to process this and move through it positively.

My approach to Christian and Biblical counselling is tailored to your preference for how much Christianity and the Bible shows up in the counselling room. For some, this might just involve considering your Christian background in the process of assessment and healing. For others, this might mean integrating secular models of counselling with Biblical principles.
