Grief is a deeply personal experience, and there is no single “right way” to move through it. In my work, I provide a compassionate and supportive space where you can share your story, process difficult emotions, and find ways to carry your loss with gentleness. I use an attachment-focused approach to help you explore how loss impacts your sense of connection and safety, while also drawing on nervous system regulation techniques to support your body and mind through overwhelming feelings. For those who are experiencing traumatic grief, I may integrate EMDR to help process painful memories and reduce the intensity of emotional triggers.

When we are mourning a loved one, whether it be a family member, the end of a close relationship, or even an animal that was dear to heart, it is a very complex and painful process. There is no one right way to grieve. Some clients need to discuss a specific situation word-for-word in order to process a loss and others need to just sit in the pain and cry. As a counsellor, I would be there on that journey with you. I would discuss with you what you want to discuss about the loss and I would use a client-centred approach to help guide you through your bereavement.

Grief is always painful, but there are ways to cooperate with the grieving process so as not to prolong it or get unnecessarily stuck in a certain stage. Therapy may be a good option for people who are experiencing prolonged or complicated grieving. Tools like Narrative Therapy, Parts Work, and Emotion Focused Therapy are options we can discuss together.
