As a psychotherapist, you listen and notice body movements and the feelings your client is focusing on. You explore what would happen if you let go of the old ways and created new ways, that helped your client find strength, self esteem and a sense of taking control over how he/she wants his/her life to be. You go for a walk and talk, exploring options. You build trust, being present , validating their feelings. Letting them know you are there for them. Positive change is possible....

I approach psychotherapy with my clients by inviting them to process past pain and present hurts. It is my belief that if given a safe and nonjudgemental space, people will be able to find a greater sense of understanding and peace despite their circumstances. There is power in telling and understanding your story. Being able to process the past without feeling controlled by it is how we can step into a more peaceful and purposeful future.

The foundation of my approach is systemic, which means I emphasize assessment of how you are impacted by the world as well as how you impact the world. Often clients underestimate the gravity of one or both of these areas despite their importances. In understanding how we are impacted by the world around us, we come to understand that we are not quite as unique or "crazy" as we imagined, and we begin to realize that the vast majority of our responses are quite normal, even if no longer effective. In addition, by understanding our impact on the world around us, we begin to realize that we might have more influence over situations than we think, if we open ourselves to different ways of being

I don’t do “sit-and-nod” therapy. My style is active, relational, and grounded in neuroscience and somatic awareness. I uncover how your mind and body learned to adapt to pain and help those patterns release their grip. Therapy with me is an exploration of your story; not just what happened, but how your mind and body learned to carry it. Using mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational depth, I trace patterns that once protected you but now limit you. This is an active, collaborative process where insight meets embodiment, and where real change feels lived rather than intellectualized.
