As a Christ-follower I understand the role spirituality plays in all dimensions of life. In fact, one of my favorite verses contains these words of Christ, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." (John 10:10) In order to have a full life it takes work on God's part and ours. God's virtues of grace, mercy, and unconditional love are powerful motivators for transformation. As we embrace these virtues, God empowers us to live a full life. I offer Christian counseling to individuals, couples, and/or families who value their relationship with Christ and understand that he plays a primary role in the change they seek.

We have therapists that take a Christian approach in therapy and adhere to Bible-based counselling. We often talk about the bio-psycho-social spiritual. However, many times the spiritual part is left out of the discussion when it can be a great component of the human experience. We use Chrisitan counseling to explore past hurts and traumas that may have even happened in the church and then, we reprocess those experiences.

Home Psych Services, P.C. offers Christian Counseling as one of its many areas of expertise. Several of our counselors have specific training in Pastoral Counseling which is the "Gold Standard" when you are seeking out Christian Counseling. Many counselors report having a Christian focus but have not actually been trained as Pastoral counselors. Though raised Christian/Catholic, I now am a practicing Buddhist. I continue to carry, use and incorporate Christian beliefs to my personal life and my professional work. I find that Buddhist concepts can enhance all faith styles. For example, I frequently teach, if desired, mindfulness, meditation and laughter yoga concepts and strategies to clients and they find them very helpful (and fun !!)
