Mental Health in Warren

Individuals in the midst of a mental health emergency have many services offered by Macomb County Community Mental Health at their disposal. The county's Crisis Center is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week and is available for anyone in Macomb County. The center's programs benefit people who are struggling with depression, psychosis, suicidal thoughts, and other serious behavioral health issues. All services are offered free of charge. The Autism Society of Macomb/St. Clair seeks to support individuals impacted by autism as well as their families. Unemployed or underemployed workers who seek to improve their skills can receive the support services they need at Leaps and Bounds Family Services. Workshops on effective communication skills and appreciation of diversity are also offered. The agency's other adult education courses address a variety of issues that reduce the stress, anxiety, and other mental health-related issues that accompany the loss of, or inability to find, a job. Those who are capable of work can receive assistance with interview skills, resume writing, and other job-related needs. The initiative also works to raise awareness about mental illness among local employers so they understand how to effectively work with someone who is mentally ill.
