For ten years I worked locally as Regional Manager of Human Resources and have a certificate in Human Resources Management. I have significant experience in career counselling and development as well as an excellent knowledge about recruitment, selection processes, interviewing techniques and resume writing. Dr. Strauss offers career counseling through New Leaf Psychology Centre. In order to facilitate decision making, sessions will first assess your current skills, assets and interests. Your level of fulfillment at your current place of work, and obstacles to fulfillment will also be discussed. Potential career changes will be reviewed, with the goal of helping you come to a decision that you are comfortable with.

My approach to career counselling includes an appreciation for the fact that work needs to include joy and purpose, or it's just a job. As I help people build skills relationally and increase self-awareness around their needs and respect for others, they will grow in confidence and reduce stress that can hijack their best version of themselves. I love to help people become more aware of their capacity and vulnerabilities, so they grow in competency. This has a way of increasing their experience of joy and purpose in the workplace or find the courage to make a change.
