Many people living with disabilities including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, learning/cognitive, behavioural, personality disorders, and substance abuse encounter added challenges in the workplace: do I tell my employer about my disability, how do I cope with my anxiety in the workplace, how do I cope with my disorganization or lack of focus, am I reading this situation correctly, how do I manage my emotional distress at work, and many other questions. I will work with you to reach a deeper understanding of how to manage these concerns at work, develop goals, and enhance communication, assertiveness, problem solving and collaboration skills.

My approach is to thoroughly review with the client their background story, noting recurring themes, influences or identified mentors. Then it is to define various strengths, whether it be noting core values/skills/aptitudes, interests. There are some proven career testing tools used to identify some credible options in the process. Confidence starts to build at this stage whether it be for a young adult contemplating a first career or a mid life career transition. The decision-making as to choosing what path to follow is crystalized when doing some further research into their highest ranking options. This may be done through exploring career data bases and information gathering interviews.

When you are in therapy with me you can talk openly about the issues you’re facing in life, you are not judged in therapy.
