I practice Christian counselling and fully believe that the Word of God contains all that we need. I depend upon His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit within my counselling practice. I believe that true healing and freedom can only be found in surrendering to the Lord in every area of our lives. He has designed us to be in complete dependancy upon in Him and in doing so can we experience real peace and power to overcome. That being said, I do not over-spiritualize everything. I am not looking for a demon behind every problem, nor do I offer trite Sunday School answers. Simply put, the moral and philosophical framework from which I prescribe is Bible based.

As someone who identifies as a Christian, I have the ability to utilize principles of the Christian faith when working with clients who also resonate with this religious background. Life is difficult and the dynamics of the world today only add complexity. Consolation in Christ can be shared and explored - including in therapy.

My background being Roman Catholic is the approach that I do when doing spiritual counselling. Although I easily can address any religious background that the person that comes for therapy might have. At the end of the day is about listening to the client needs and in the process also having the client explain their spiritual background to address it properly.
