Mental Health in Ajax
Stress, anxiety and work-related pressures plague many residents of Ajax and the Durham Region. In a public poll done by Canadian psychology students in 2009, over 50% of the population of the Durham Region reported feeling depressed and anxious due to work. People feel less happy in their personal lives when they are demotivated at work.
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) offers vocational rehabilitative services designed to help individuals through stress, anxiety and other mental health concerns that affect their daily wellbeing.2 The Durham Branch of the CMHA offers several therapy and counseling sessions that may be taken individually or in groups.3 Residents of Ajax may take part in these community mental health programs and work together with their fellow citizens to take a collaborative approach toward mental health.
