Elizabeth Otto felt the calling to become a therapist from a young age, but questioned whether it would be too distressing of a profession. In her early thirties, it became clear that this field would be a source of purpose, by helping others to work through their difficulties. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She graduated from LaSalle University in 2015 with Master's of Arts in Clinical Professional Counseling. She has experience in treating clients with mental health and substance abuse issues. She primarily provides counseling to individuals, but also has extensive experience with couples and families. She provides a calm and supportive environment with unconditional positive regard.
Elizabeth believes that the alliance between the counselor and the client is of utmost importance for productive treatment. She has focused her training in the field of trauma, as she sees it as the source of many mental health and substance abuse problems. She recently participated in an extensive EMDR training that has opened her eyes to the brain's inherent desire to heal itself and how she can help guide clients to resolve inner conflicts.
Ultimately, Elizabeth Otto envisions her work as a therapist to be founded in assisting the client to develop a better internal relationship with the self. She believes in encouraging clients to recognize their strengths to better understand their capacity for coping and reflection. Duration of sessions is 50-60 minutes. Individual counseling is $100. Couples and Family therapy is $150. Elizabeth is contracted with High Mark insurance. Otherwise all sessions are out of pocket and can be paid by cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.
Elizabeth sees clients in person on Wednesdays from 9am to 9pm at 127 South 3rd Street, Perkasie, PA. She is available for virtual counseling Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 9pm.
