Marion Stewart View Specialties

Marion provides a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach to therapy.  She values the uniqueness of each person and respects that each person is expert on themselves.  This allows individuals to search their own feelings and values and make decisions from a place of personal integrity. Unresolved personal issues are implicated in depression and anxiety. Marion has specifically focussed on training in approaches that can allow people to become attuned to their own thoughts and feelings toward making decisions that they feel confident about. A combination of self-reflective and action-oriented strategies can provide the results often sought.  For couples, skills for healthy communication and developing connection can lead to feelings of intimacy and connection.

Marion is a Registered Psychologist with a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta.  She has advanced training in Existential-Humanistic Therapy and Level II training in Gottman Couples' Therapy.  Marion draws from Cognitive Behavioural; Emotion-Focussed; Mindfulness; Motivational; and other evidence-based approaches. Marion has developed and facilitated Domestic Violence Program groups and other psycho-educational and process groups. She has worked in primary health care providing assessment and treatment to people suffering with moderate to severe mental illness.

Marion charges $180 per 50 minute session and provides a receipt for insurance purposes.
