Are you someone who describes yourself as anxious, an over-thinker, a bit (or a lot!) of a perfectionist, highly critical of yourself? Let's talk...
My clients tell me I'm easy to talk to, respectful, caring, and that I provide a safe and non-judgemental space in which to explore their inner world.

Together we will explore how thoughts, behaviours, and moods influence your experience and how the skills, values, and strengths you already possess will move you forward.

My fee is $120 per 50-minute session. I would with adults and couples but my speciality is working with women of all ages who struggle with an anxious mind.
Individual benefits may include:

A stronger more positive sense of self - what values and strengths drive your decisions and make you who you are?
Developing self-compassion when strong emotions take over
Creating a more peaceful mind which leads to more peaceful moments and days

Couple benefits may include:

Tracking the endless pattern of arguing that goes nowhere and then stepping out of that pattern
Accessing, accepting, and communicating your emotional needs
Creating new ways of interacting with your loved one that builds stronger emotional connection and empathy
Developing new ways of communicating that fosters love and connection instead of frustration and hurt

Education and affiliations:
  • I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology (BAhon), a diploma in Career Counselling, and a master's degree in Counselling Psychology (MC).
  • I have over 7 years experience in the fields of career and personal counselling.
  • I have specialized training in narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT) with couples, crisis intervention, sexual trauma, LGBTQ+, multi-cultural counselling, and brief solution-focused therapy.
  • I am a member of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Registered Psychotherapist, RP.

What type of therapy modalities and counselling theory do I draw upon:
I am an integrative therapist, meaning I use techniques from many therapy modalities according to what will benefit my client the most from moment to moment. I acknowledge that there are many useful therapies available to therapists but I personally feel most drawn to post-modern theories of counselling: narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy.

In short, post-modern theory in counselling postulates that the work done in the counselling room is collaborative and that the client's experience is always at the centre of the work. The main ideas in these therapies include:

Problems are problems; people are not problems
Norms do not exist when it comes to mental health; people decide what works for them and what they would like to change
Counselling focuses on strengths instead of deficits

When working with couples, I use an emotionally focused therapy (EFT) approach.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. I hope to meet you soon.
