I am a professional therapist who knows the importance of living my life according to my role model Jesus Christ. I have had my share of troubles in my life and have found that talking to someone who has valuable scriptural knowledge that I trusted and respected made a significant difference in my life. Combining my Christian Worldview with the principles of psychology provides help to those who suffer and want to be respected for their Christian beliefs, it is my desire to help you to trust God and His help in our work together.

As a Christian who is also a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I chose to receive my undergraduate and graduate degree from a Christian university. I did this because I believe that God has designed all of the proven therapeutic priniciples and truly wants to help hurting people. This training has helped me to utilize a Christian World View to solve psychological problems. As most of my clients are Christians, I pray for them before each session and with them if they desire.

Christian Counseling is important when seeking growth in the faith as followers of Jesus Christ in a therapeutic setting. By the use of counseling and connecting to the scriptures or prayer therapists can encourage the client not only during their current life challenges but in future stages of life after treatment has been successfully terminated.

As a Christian therapist, I believe that our hope is found in God. All of the problems we experience on earth can be seen through a spiritual lens. Even research supports the benefits of having faith during a difficult event in a person’s life as opposed to someone who is not a believer. I believe that God wants us to be able to draw closer to Him in the midst of a trial and that He offers us healing. My role is to partner with God in this process of healing for all of my clients who come in to see me. Therefore, I will happily incorporate prayer and scripture in our sessions if you’d like for that to be a part of our time together.

I do not specialize in treating Christian clients, however I do work with Christians whose background in line with teachings of tolerance. I deal with Christians who are struggling with sexual and/or gender identity issues. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore one's beliefs in God, the church, and their sexual identity or gender identity. I am have worked with these issues for over 25 years and identity issues are a specialty of mine. I am also a specialist and certified expert in the treatment of childhood abuse, trauma, sexual abuse and sexual trauma of males and females. I offer both individual and group therapy along with a variety of different approaches. I CAN HELP!

When we are hurting, we often seek Christ, our primary Healer, last. We helplessly flounder, grasping for healing via harmful people or things, when His healing is as close as His Word. I am a Christian faith-based therapist with my office at my church. Everything we go through is a spiritual challenge. Our ability to handle life is based on our connection with God. When we are tight, (in vertical alignment), we are able to handle our challenges and follow as He requires. When we not as tight, we fight, control, argue, decieve ourselves and don't allow God to lead us as He needs. Surrender is vital to Christian life and therapy.

There are certain advantages Christian's have over non-Christians in terms of overcoming problems. There is a framework that is developed through the reading and application of scriptures in your life that helps us connect to the ways, God the Creator has intended us to live. This enables us to produce the "Fruits of the Spirit" as mentioned in Galatians 5 such as love, joy and peace. I believe that a person must learn from teachings brought to him from his past when there is a crisis.
