I work with clients spiritually based on their desire to incorporate spirituality. I will expose christianity bu not impose it. I am a Christian and I can help a client take a biblical approach to counseling as I believe that God wants us to live life to the fullest. Frequently people feel guilty or sinful for wanting more out of life and I offer the proposition that life is to be savored and enjoyed and that one can be happy in their faith in God. I will pray with my clients if they wish.

As a Christian I have seen first hand how God and his principles provide transformation and redemption in my life and in others' lives. In my practice, I utilize a Grace-based, Biblical approach as I believe Jesus provides true change and freedom. Often, it is our inadequate understanding of how God views us that leads to problems of poor self- worth, anxiety and depression. Many times, we can get caught up with "doing" for God rather than "abiding in Him". In our work together we will explore your relationship with God and identify how to strengthen it as well as how to apply Biblical truths to experience true freedom and healing.

I believe that healthy relationships are at the heart of living a full life. Tending to your relationship with God, yourself and your loved ones is one of the most important journeys you can undertake. For more than 20 years I have journeyed with my clients through their grief, crises, joy and life challenges. My counseling approach can best be described as compassionate, intuitive and grounded in a deep understanding of what research and experience teach about how to approach a problem. Each client that walks into my office receives an individualized approach to addressing their concerns, not just for the session, but for a life time. I look forward to hearing from you.

As a Christ-follower I understand the role spirituality plays in all dimensions of life. In fact, one of my favorite verses contains these words of Christ, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." (John 10:10) In order to have a full life it takes work on God's part and ours. God's virtues of grace, mercy, and unconditional love are powerful motivators for transformation. As we embrace these virtues, God empowers us to live a full life. I offer Christian counseling to individuals, couples, and/or families who value their relationship with Christ and understand that he plays a primary role in the change they seek.

I don't think of myself as a Christian Counselor. I have no degrees in divinity. I have read parts, but not all, of the Bible. If you are like me, you search for truth and meaning in your life. You ask yourself, "What does God want me to do?" What if God wants you to do what YOUR heart tells you to do? It seems to me that the real question for Christians is "Do I believe that God has my back?" That is what I struggle with. No matter how much evidence I see in my own life that God is present, I get fearful. I'm afraid God will let me down. If that fear invades your mind too, then maybe we can talk it out. What I know is that psychology and the mind are only half the truth. The other half is the spirit and faith.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. If one honors God's natural laws of reaping and sowing around the decisions one makes, one is indeed living Scripture to its fullest. We prepare the brain to better maximize the spiritual realities of Christ's words. Contact kevin@kevinflemingphd.com.

Even as Christians, and good Christians, we cannot make suffering go away. Being humans, we inevitably have to tackle the dark side of the human condition, perhaps struggling with our thinking processes, perhaps growing up with traumas in our families of origin, perhaps experiencing depression, anxiety, marriage conflicts, or something even more serious. As long as we're in this body, we’ll experience sufferings. Downtrodden, we want to rely on God’s grace to pick us up. And one way to access God’s grace is through holistic counseling – a safe place where we can gain new perspectives, shine new lights on our situations, feel lighter, more confident, and ready to move forward with life
