I understand that life transitions can bring about a sense of uncertainty, especially when it comes to your career path. In our career counseling sessions, we'll take a holistic approach, exploring your skills, interests, and values to help you make informed decisions. We'll also look at practical aspects like resume building and interview techniques. While change can be daunting, it's also an opportunity for growth and new beginnings. Together, we'll work to not only navigate these transitions but to also turn them into stepping stones for a fulfilling career and a brighter future.

For some, a career is a large part of one's identity. For others, it is simply a means to an end or a small part of a bigger picture. I approach career counselling by helping you discover and explore what a career and any related decisions mean for you. By doing this, I hope to help you uncover insight and clarity towards career choices and transitions.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. Gaining a sense of control over one's life allows for increased confidence and self-esteem. I help clients build the motivation necessary to take steps toward a future filled with passion, thriving, and mental resilliance.

These dilemmas, as well as the overwhelm that comes with career transition, are the sort of issues I am glad to help you with. My approach to career counselling and planning is taken from the now famous resource Designing Your Life. We apply Design Thinking to reframe obstacles to opportunities in creative ways that may be impossible to imagine now. Then we design plans to give you the inspiration and practical experiences that prove what career decision will bring you the greatest happiness, fulfillment, and reward.

While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies. We are able to assist folks in career counseling type settings by giving a deeper look at their decision making profile so they can better understand where the core frustration or desire is coming from in the world of work. I look forward to helping clients through career counselling in making difficult transitions easier. I believe in first developing meaningful connections with my clients. Instead of relying on career aptitude tests and personality tests I will want to understand the clients' worries and desires. I will look to setting up specific goals with my clients and redirecting them to their goals.

I truly believe that choosing one single career path can be one of the more difficult decisions we have to make in life. At times it may feel like there is immense societal and cultural pressure to choose a specific career path, but at the end of the day, I am curious to explore what it is you value, free from outside judgements. Different people prioritize different factors when choosing a career, and it is important for me to help identify what your priorities are. From there we can brainstorm potential avenues and build motivation to help bring those thoughts into reality. It is often action that creates motivation, not the other way around.
