Christian counselling with me is grounded in the conviction that each person bears dignity before God and is not defined by failure or struggle. Scripture serves not as a weapon of correction, but as a lens through which we understand identity, suffering, repentance, forgiveness, and hope. Faith can be integrated thoughtfully into therapy through biblical reflection, prayer when desired, and examining how beliefs shape emotional life. Healing often begins when light is allowed into places shaped by fear or shame. As hidden struggles are brought honestly before God, many clients experience renewed hope, greater integrity, and a growing sense of spiritual and emotional wholeness.

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear." (1 Jn 4:18). Christ is the source and model of Love. In a place of love we are not afraid, there is acceptance in the presence of Christ and therein the freedom and safety to change. Current research into key factors of therapeutic healing points to "attachment:" Defined, this term matches the Biblical description of Love. Christ's Love is strong, restorative, clarifying and empowering. As we address the challenges and issues that are part of our earthly walk the love of Christ is here - present, strong and safe. In counselling we will prayerfully seek support in addressing relational and individual concerns

My faith based approach to counselling offers help towards healing and change. I am warm and non-judgmental, able to help with issues surrounding divorce and separation, co-parenting, anxiety and depression and anger management. I use my own faith and belief to lead my efforts in the counselling process. Through the help of a trained, professional counselor you can feel supported in any life transition.

It may feel extra-challenging to have a faith and find yourself with personal challenges and hurts. I combine evidence-based therapeutic approaches with a Christ-centered lens, because I believe that psychological healing and spiritual formation are deeply interconnected processes. While having faith does not replace the work of processing grief, anger, or trauma, it does provide the foundation and framework for freedom and lasting change.

God sees you in your struggle and has compassion for you. Being a Christian doesn't mean always being happy. I'll create space for all your thoughts and feelings. The Christian lens I provide is based on the principles of speaking the truth in love, laying aside all masks & pretence and being congruent. By providing empathy, comfort, education, conviction, encouragement through a gentle process forged by listening and building trust, I offer a safe environment for people to release emotional pain. I can apply biblical principles to spur change in people’s hearts. This process is facilitated through personal responsibility while harnessing the brain's ability to heal whether by combining insights from social sciences, strengthening neural connections with brain training via Neurofeedback or processing barriers due to emotionally charged memories with EMDR.

Somehow when we know that Jesus is the one who is doing the healing, and we place our trust in Him, we can find peace within the journey of healing. "Come to me.....and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28). I am a counselor of Christian faith and I use healing prayer and the Bible along with cognitive and mind-body approaches in my work with Christian clients.

As a Christian, my practice reflects that. My formal training was at a Christian University. Not all my clients are Christian, which is fine and something I respect. However, for those clients who are Christians, I will integrate prayer, Scripture, and Biblical principles and values into my counselling. Scripture, God's truths, give a road map into life's challenges. I believe the Holy Spirit guides me and gives me wisdom as I work with my clients as well. God loves you and wants you to live a life of healing and freedom.

As part of my graduate training in psychology, I also completed a Masters in Theology, as well as a pastoral practicum. My psychology training also included a focus on the integration of psychology and spirituality; how they can influence and strengthen each other. However, I never seek to inject my own beliefs into therapy! Rather, I feel it is important for me to understand how your faith and beliefs are a part of your understanding of your issues and how you can draw upon them. I try to see each of my patients as whole people, and that includes their faith and beliefs.

I was raised and educated in the church, and wherever I go, this background follows me. Maybe you're in the same boat: and the boat doesn't always sail smoothly, but it keeps you from drowning, all the same. If you need to talk to someone who understands that your decisions are formed in the context of your faith, I am here. If you need to talk about doubts or negativer feelings you have about your faith, I am here for that, too.

When clients specifically request our counselling sessions to have a Christian focus I am able to integrate scriptual teaching & Christian counselling research within the broader field of psychotherapy assessment & treatment. When I take a Christian approach I find that therapy works towards alleviating psychological stressors while helping people to appropriate a deeper understanding & appreciation of the grace of God.
