My approach to Christian counselling is informed by years of studying philosophy, theology, and the history of Christianity. Beyond denominational differences, I often see people struggling to nurture their spirituality and to feel God’s presence in their daily lives. For many, faith becomes difficult during times of uncertainty, doubt, or suffering. In counselling, I help clients reflect more deeply on their faith, explore its meaning in their lives, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and hope. Faith is a gift, but counselling can help people engage with it more consciously and find strength and direction through it.

It may feel extra-challenging to have a faith and find yourself with personal challenges and hurts. Christian counselling offers a space where your faith and your emotional well-being can be supported together. I provide a warm, confidential environment where we can explore what you're facing through both a therapeutic and faith-based lens. The Christian lens I provide is based on the principles of speaking the truth in love, laying aside all masks & pretence and being congruent. By providing empathy, comfort, education, conviction, encouragement through a gentle process forged by listening and building trust, I offer a safe environment for people to release emotional pain. I can apply biblical principles to spur change in people’s hearts. This process is facilitated through personal responsibility while harnessing the brain's ability to heal whether by combining insights from social sciences, strengthening neural connections with brain training via Neurofeedback or processing barriers due to emotionally charged memories with EMDR.

For every client that I see, I always offer an individualized and tailored approach by draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches in order to enable your mental health healing and functional recovery. Using a collaborative and client centered approach, I will walk alongside you and together, we will explore solutions to overcome life's obstacles.

Is anyone tired of traditional "Christian" Counseling? I know I came to that place in my life growing up, when I didn't just want to hear that God could heal all of my messes (even though I knew He could - if it is His will), I wanted to know that someone (hear on earth) had my best interests at hand too! However, there is still evil around us, and we certainly don't just want to put our hearts in minds into the hands of just anyone. It is important, in my opinion, to have an educated counselor that knows what he or she is doing, who also see's counseling as a partnership between him/herself (the counselor), God and the power of prayer, and of course the client.

Approaching counselling from a Christian perspective is not about relying on God to solve your problems, but rather learning how to align oneself to live and work within his created world and intentions for our happiness. Free will is an essential gift that allows us to explore this creation and find meaning and happiness that has been inspired by God. Developing a trust in God to guide and direct us in this task is an essential process in establishing faith that God will keep us safe whiling using our freewill and experience to look both ways before we cross the street.

Somehow when we know that Jesus is the one who is doing the healing, and we place our trust in Him, we can find peace within the journey of healing. "Come to me.....and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28). I am a counselor of Christian faith and I use healing prayer and the Bible along with cognitive and mind-body approaches in my work with Christian clients.

I help clients work through the issues that prevent them from having the life that they want for themselves. Christian clients that want to work from a biblical perspective are helped by addressing the issues through the lense of their belief system. We can look up bible verses that address the topics that they are wanting to work on in the appointments.
