For many people, spirituality is an important part of their belief system and helps inform who they are. While I work with clients of all backgrounds, many clients specifically seek out therapists who share similar values and beliefs as them. In offering counselling to Christians, I do not impart my views or beliefs, but simply hold space for you to process your experiences and allow you to ask yourself questions you may not feel comfortable asking in other places.

As part of my graduate training in psychology, I also completed a Masters in Theology, as well as a pastoral practicum. My psychology training also included a focus on the integration of psychology and spirituality; how they can influence and strengthen each other. However, I never seek to inject my own beliefs into therapy! Rather, I feel it is important for me to understand how your faith and beliefs are a part of your understanding of your issues and how you can draw upon them. I try to see each of my patients as whole people, and that includes their faith and beliefs.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that.
