I was raised and educated in the church, and wherever I go, this background follows me. Maybe you're in the same boat: and the boat doesn't always sail smoothly, but it keeps you from drowning, all the same. If you need to talk to someone who understands that your decisions are formed in the context of your faith, I am here. If you need to talk about doubts or negativer feelings you have about your faith, I am here for that, too.

I am a Bible-believing Evangelical Christian of 40 years. Yet, I welcome people of all faiths or no faith because I am neither a priest or minister, but a counsellor here to serve you. I openly identify myself as a Christian, because I believe it's fair for you to know my bias. Therefore, if I am working with a Christian client, I will join you in open prayer as you request. If I am working with a non-believer, I will engage you at YOUR level of meaning and purpose. My goal is to help you break free of whatever is holding you back.

Christian counselling with me is grounded in the conviction that each person bears dignity before God and is not defined by failure or struggle. Scripture serves not as a weapon of correction, but as a lens through which we understand identity, suffering, repentance, forgiveness, and hope. Faith can be integrated thoughtfully into therapy through biblical reflection, prayer when desired, and examining how beliefs shape emotional life. Healing often begins when light is allowed into places shaped by fear or shame. As hidden struggles are brought honestly before God, many clients experience renewed hope, greater integrity, and a growing sense of spiritual and emotional wholeness.

As a Christian, my practice reflects that. My formal training was at a Christian University. Not all my clients are Christian, which is fine and something I respect. However, for those clients who are Christians, I will integrate prayer, Scripture, and Biblical principles and values into my counselling. Scripture, God's truths, give a road map into life's challenges. I believe the Holy Spirit guides me and gives me wisdom as I work with my clients as well. God loves you and wants you to live a life of healing and freedom.

Is anyone tired of traditional "Christian" Counseling? I know I came to that place in my life growing up, when I didn't just want to hear that God could heal all of my messes (even though I knew He could - if it is His will), I wanted to know that someone (hear on earth) had my best interests at hand too! However, there is still evil around us, and we certainly don't just want to put our hearts in minds into the hands of just anyone. It is important, in my opinion, to have an educated counselor that knows what he or she is doing, who also see's counseling as a partnership between him/herself (the counselor), God and the power of prayer, and of course the client.

Angela is an experienced therapist who provides a Christian counselling perspective to explore a variety of issues that may be affecting you, your marriage or your family. Her training and experience support individuals with a wide variety of issues related to grief & loss, marital discord, family violence/conflict, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, parent-child relationships, life transitions, addictions, anger management and self-care. As a pastor and an evangelist, I have firm faith in God that I offer therapy with God’s loving kindness. As a pastoral therapist who aspires to strong principals, ethics, and Christian faith, I believe that Jesus is a key for all. I have a strong conviction that the goal of therapy should include both psychological and spiritual wholeness. Every situated proportions, it depends on the setting, theory of the belief system and expectations of the client. In my judgement the best way to accomplish this goal is walking through faith step by step. I will help my clients to rediscover the love, support, acceptance, collaboration, and kindness, and create a strong, loving relationship in Christ.

I counsel clients from a christian ministry. God is there to heal, and I support clients through god's words. We pray and seek his guidance, to overcome the stress that is overwhelming you, it may be anxiety, depression, disconnect of a relationship with a loved one, lack of self-care and/or other new stress that you need counselling support. Whether it is physical or mental pain, I use many therapeutic techniques, together with Christian beliefs to help clients heal.

Approaching counselling from a Christian perspective is not about relying on God to solve your problems, but rather learning how to align oneself to live and work within his created world and intentions for our happiness. Free will is an essential gift that allows us to explore this creation and find meaning and happiness that has been inspired by God. Developing a trust in God to guide and direct us in this task is an essential process in establishing faith that God will keep us safe whiling using our freewill and experience to look both ways before we cross the street.

When clients specifically request our counselling sessions to have a Christian focus I am able to integrate scriptual teaching & Christian counselling research within the broader field of psychotherapy assessment & treatment. When I take a Christian approach I find that therapy works towards alleviating psychological stressors while helping people to appropriate a deeper understanding & appreciation of the grace of God.

My experience in the Christian church provides me the context to which I can witness, understand and reflect your experiences, questions and concerns related to organized religion. I see each client as having inherent dignity and worth and this shapes my approach in every way. My hope is that each of my clients can show up as they are, being free to explore thoughts and feelings, connect with their faith/spirituality, and develop the skills necessary to live a more fulfilling life.

Using a collaborative and client centered approach, I will walk alongside you and together, we will explore solutions to overcome life's obstacles.
