As a Christian, my practice reflects that. My formal training was at a Christian University. Not all my clients are Christian, which is fine and something I respect. However, for those clients who are Christians, I will integrate prayer, Scripture, and Biblical principles and values into my counselling. Scripture, God's truths, give a road map into life's challenges. I believe the Holy Spirit guides me and gives me wisdom as I work with my clients as well. God loves you and wants you to live a life of healing and freedom.

Many people feel there is something beyond everyday life, but they don't know how to let it heal and empower them, how to live it out. If you wish to open to an experience of the transcendental, divine in our life, to an awareness of how this can be lived, and in respect of your understanding of the meaning of Christian message, I'd be happy to work with you. I could lead you through meditation and mindfulness, to acceptance, spirit of generosity, love, care towards people around you.

My experience in the Christian church provides me the context to which I can witness, understand and reflect your experiences, questions and concerns related to organized religion. Whether you are considering deconstruction, wanting to make a leap of faith into something new for you, or if you are simply wanting to explore your next steps in regards to faith, I am here to support your journey. 44 years in the Christian world has offered me the context to know what you are experiencing in your faith journey. Without judgement, I will explore your faith questions and journey with you to wherever that leads.

In my practice, I use a holistic approach that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of my clients' lives. I see each client as having inherent dignity and worth and this shapes my approach in every way. My hope is that each of my clients can show up as they are, being free to explore thoughts and feelings, connect with their faith/spirituality, and develop the skills necessary to live a more fulfilling life.

I am a Christian counsellor born, raised and practicing in the Christian faith. The laws of Love taught in the Bible are as relevant today as they were when the Bible was written. Jesus left us with His example and a set of principles, to guide us through the trials that we face in our current lives. Although the form and conditions of our lives now have changed, this guidance helps us to navigate through the challenges of the current day. My practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) includes an openness to The Holy Spirit to guide our process. Sue Johnson's book "Created For Connection" shows how EFT can help couples repair their marital relationship in the context of Christianity.

I have been a Christian counsellor in a church and worked Christian organisation for 8 years. I integrate faith and psychology to provide a holistic approach to healing. Grounded in the principles of Christianity, I offer guidance, support, and a safe space for individuals to explore their spiritual and emotional concerns. When clients specifically request our counselling sessions to have a Christian focus I am able to integrate scriptual teaching & Christian counselling research within the broader field of psychotherapy assessment & treatment. When I take a Christian approach I find that therapy works towards alleviating psychological stressors while helping people to appropriate a deeper understanding & appreciation of the grace of God.

As a Christian, it is actually impossible for me to relate to my clients in an authentic way if I deviate from my worldview. I counsel clients from a christian ministry. God is there to heal, and I support clients through god's words. We pray and seek his guidance, to overcome the stress that is overwhelming you, it may be anxiety, depression, disconnect of a relationship with a loved one, lack of self-care and/or other new stress that you need counselling support. Whether it is physical or mental pain, I use many therapeutic techniques, together with Christian beliefs to help clients heal.

I believe that spirituality is a large component to building healthy relationships, overcoming life circumstances, and addressing big life questions. I encourage the exploration of your spirituality in the midst of your pain. My orientation is based on a Christian world view; however, I welcome clients with any religious orientation. I am pleased to offer my Christian clients, counselling from a Christian perspective. For some people it is important to know that their counsellor understands both their spirituality and their values and ethics from their Christian perspective. I understand and practice a Christian way of life so if my clients so choose I can help them navigate their life through a Christian lens. Although not Biblically based counselling this means taking into consideration Christian values and doctrine to help clients move in a manner congruent with their beliefs.

I am a practising Catholic. I use a common sense approach and I respect all religions. There is no right or wrong religion. My faith has helped me many times during my lengthy career. For 14 years I was a consultant with the BC Coroner's Office and I did psychological autopsies of teens that either committed suicide or were suspected of committing suicide. Many times my faith gave me the strength to support those grieving parents in the most terrible time of their lives.

I am a Bible-believing Evangelical Christian of 40 years. Yet, I welcome people of all faiths or no faith because I am neither a priest or minister, but a counsellor here to serve you. I openly identify myself as a Christian, because I believe it's fair for you to know my bias. Therefore, if I am working with a Christian client, I will join you in open prayer as you request. If I am working with a non-believer, I will engage you at YOUR level of meaning and purpose. My goal is to help you break free of whatever is holding you back.

As part of my graduate training in psychology, I also completed a Masters in Theology, as well as a pastoral practicum. My psychology training also included a focus on the integration of psychology and spirituality; how they can influence and strengthen each other. However, I never seek to inject my own beliefs into therapy! Rather, I feel it is important for me to understand how your faith and beliefs are a part of your understanding of your issues and how you can draw upon them. I try to see each of my patients as whole people, and that includes their faith and beliefs.

Approaching counselling from a Christian perspective is not about relying on God to solve your problems, but rather learning how to align oneself to live and work within his created world and intentions for our happiness. Free will is an essential gift that allows us to explore this creation and find meaning and happiness that has been inspired by God. While I don't offer "Christian counselling" as a modality, I am a counsellor who is a Christian. I have a degree in Theology, and before becoming a psychotherapist I spent 10 years in pastoral church ministry. Many who have been part of the Church and ‘church culture’ have been impacted.
